It is probably an understatement to say that I’m excited for The Great Gatsby movie this weekend. I loved Iron Man 3 last weekend, but I’ve been waiting for Gatsby longer I think. Last week I re-read the book for the first time in a long time and I remembered how much I love Fitgerald’s language. Gatsby has similar themes to both Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge, along with the extreme highs and extreme lows that they all contain; Which makes Baz the perfect director for the piece. I’m not thrilled with the idea of hip-hop infiltrating a wonderful 1920’s musical scene, but I’m interested to see how it all works together.
And so, here are some Great Gatsby Adventures for you!
Baz Luhrmann’s Gatsby Journal (interactive awesomeness)
1920’s fashion on ModCloth – I knew there was a reason I had never visited ModCloth before – beautiful, tempting and a touch too expensive for me!
Particularly loving the Florence and the Machine song, Over the Love
and Lana Del Rey’s Young and Beautiful
