Keeping the Momentum from Recent Brainstorms on our Road Trip

I don’t know about you, but every time I go on a road trip (or even just a hike or extended walk) my brain starts going a million miles a minute. I start plotting and planning all the things I’m going to do when I get home and thinking about all the projects that are in progress that I want to finish. Some of the plans are more elaborate than others.

Unavoidably, when we get home we get caught up in the day to day and our plans and schemes fall by the wayside. Some stick around long enough for me to add them to my to do list, but usually most of them fall apart and disappear. It makes me sad.

On our last road trip, where I took the above photograph in the Badlands, we schemed and plotted as per usual. We talked about wanting to own a teardrop trailer. Then we discovered you can work living campground to campground and talked about maybe someday getting and airstream and doing that. We discussed breaking our graphic design business off from fallenpeach and giving it it’s own identity. We talked about possible names and what our niche would be. We talked about building fallenpeach and finding more craft fairs to do in 2014. We talked about Sammy and Friends and how to build that up as well.

This time, I’m determined to keep these thoughts going. Some of them more immediately than others. We will be doing more craft fairs in 2014. I’ve already made an excel spreadsheet of fairs I’m interested in for preparation. We will be building fallenpeach as well as Sammy and Friends. AND my winter project WILL be to come up with a name, logo and branding for our graphic design business. I have plans, most of them are good plans, and I’m determined to keep working on them as hard as I can.

How do you keep your momentum from brainstorming when you are away from home?
