Weekenders: We Love Nature

Matt and I have been able to go for a hike for the past three weekends, which makes us really happy. We love being outside and enjoying the beautiful Spring weather. We want to be out and hiking more than just once a week, but for now it’s a nice start.

Saturday it Rained. A lot. Nevertheless, it was a nice day for reading and relaxing. He’s reading the Tommyknockers and I’m reading both the Happiness Project and I’m finally up to book 7 of the Dark Tower series. I’ll be commenting on both once I’m done with them!

Reading time is something that I felt I was missing in my life. I used to read several books a week and lately I’m struggling to finish one. Saturday reminded me that it’s okay to take a break, relax and just read for a while. I’m going to have to remind myself of that more often.

Easter Sunday started out with beautiful weather. We went for a short hike in the woods before gathering with family for lunch. Everything was still a bit wet from the rain and the river was roaring. Crossing I slipped and ended up having to pause and ring out my sock before we could keep going. The hike was only about 20-30 minutes, but just being outside made me feel energized and happy. We found a hole too small for a Hobbit but maybe just big enough for a gnome (see left) and were excited to see buds forming on the trees. One more rain storm and I think green leaves will truly be everywhere, I can’t wait for the trees to be full and alive again.

How was your weekend?
